Adapted Lesson: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. | Narrated Pic to Pic, Text to Text match | ROUNDS Students watch "PBS LEARNING MEDIA | Martin Luther King Jr. Day | (, a short video about Martin Luther King, Jr. and read/ look at adapted texts from the Tar Hill reader or the Sherlock Center Resource Library. This lesson is a narrated digital story about important facts about Dr. King's life. HOW TO PLAY This lesson has four rounds. The first two rounds consist of pictures that follow a sequence and are patterned after a Cards lesson, a narrated picture book on the same topic. Students match picture-to-picture, following an ordered sequence that begins with an image of D.r King, by dragging images that are displayed randomly on the page to the images displayed in a rotating circle. When the image is placed correctly, a brief narration is activated. This process can be used with or without assistance from an adult as needed. After going going over the story presented in Round 1 and Round 2, ask students questions about the story and have them respond by tapping on the picture they think best answers the question. Discuss the meaning of the concepts and terms, adjusting to the level of your students. Rounds 3 and 4 provide text-to-text matching of some of the words presented in the first two rounds of this lesson and the accompanying video. The text is not narrated in this version.
